Salon owner gets shocking surprise when spooky 'hidden tunnel' found behind mirror

A salon owner had a shocking surprise when a creepy 'hidden tunnel' was found behind a mirror.

Adele Young was contacted by a worker at the business asking her to come 'right away' to the shop.

The employee said the builders had discovered something odd while they were renovating the place.

After arriving at her business, Adele's Hair Beauty and Wellbeing she was "stunned" after discovering an unknown room behind a staircase.

The secret room had a tarnished mirror and a sandstone archway which was filled with bricks on the other side

Its roof was full of small glass squares, which are also outside the front of the salon.

Adele, 44, told the Liverpool Echo : "I love this kind of stuff and was amazed and stunned when I saw the room. We have heard about tunnels below Runcorn but I had no idea we had something on our site.

"When I saw the archway full of bricks the first thing I said was 'oh my god what is that' and then 'I bet there are dead bodies behind there'.

"I just really want to know more about what it is. I love fantasies and I do think our shop is haunted."

After some investigation and research about the salon's history Adele found out the shop was a bar in the late 70s and early 80s.

The secret room is then believed to have been used as some kind of water feature.

Now, the team at the salon hopes to cover the wall in Perspex and create a feature at the salon.

Adele said: "We have somebody coming this week who is a historian and we're hoping he can tell us more about this. It's amazing to have something so cool in our shop."

The businesswoman and her staff took to social media to ask people if they had any information about the secret tunnel.

A staff member also posted a video online which has been viewed on TikTok 1.7 million times and hundreds of people have commented saying how 'cool' and 'awesome' their discovery is.

The Mirror told in February how a woman found a 'hidden' room inside her local Ikea.

She shared a video of it online and people were rushing to find it themselves.

TikTok star Anjali found the secret Infinity room in the Swedish furniture store in Greenwich, London, behind a door that had a discreet sign on it.

She documented her journey in a video on social media and urged her fans to go and find it themselves, describing it as a 'fun adventure'.

Soon Anjali was inundated with comments from people asking how they could find the room, but so far she hasn't given any instructions.
