Salomon Rondon 'very satisfied' with his contribution at Newcastle and hopes to kick on next season

Salomon Rondon has revealed he is 'very satisfied' with his contribution at Newcastle United this season.

Rondon has scored 11 goals and registered seven assists since joining on a season-long loan deal from West Brom and has hugely impressed up front alongside Ayoze Perez.

The 29-year-old reached double figures in Premier League goals for the first time in his career and should Rafa Benitez remain at the club, he will be one of the Magpies' top summer transfer targets.

And speaking to Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Rondon has praised Benitez and revealed he hopes to carry his club form into the Copa America.

He also admitted he hopes to kick on again next season, whether he is at Newcastle or elsewhere.

“I am very satisfied because the coach Rafa Benítez put a lot of confidence in me and I have tried to give the maximum to the team.

“Having participated in so many goals has been important for the goals of the team and the personal ones, which were to be able to surpass what I had done before [in the Premier League] this season.

“There is still one more day [at Fulham on Sunday] to try to have a good finish.

“Then think about the Copa America [with Venezuela this summer] and wherever [I am] next season, continue to contribute work and goals.”

Newcastle should be building a team around Rondon, Perez and Almiron - instead the trio could be breaking up
