Salomon Rondon deal is an option this summer, confirms Newcastle United MD Lee Charnley

Newcastle United managing director Lee Charnley has broken the club's silence on Salomon Rondon's future.

The No 9 has netted 10 goals during his loan stint on Tyneside and many fans see him as the perfect fit for the Magpies in attack.

However, uncertainty still hovers above Rondon's next move as it is unclear how much he will cost United this summer.

If West Brom are promoted the fee will rise beyond £20million, and if they stay in the Championship it will drop to £16.5million.

But both price tags will include agent fees and Rondon's wage demands.

When asked about what Newcastle intend to do, Charnley said: "Have we said we won't attempt to sign Salomon Rondon in the summer?

"Firstly, he's not our player so he will go back to West Brom and both he and his club will then decide on his future.

"Having said that, we haven’t ruled out trying to sign him but any deal would have to suit all parties."
