Salomon Rondon and team mates voice their anger over kit supplier row

Newcastle United striker Salomon Rondon has criticised the kit supplier of the Venezuelan national kit.

Taking to social media, the current United No 9 wrote 'they are not up to par' to caption a picture of a red circle over the company's name - Givova.

This comes after a unofficial friendly game against Catalonia.

Rondon, along with the Venezuelan captain Tomas Rincon have accused Givova of buying shirts which retail for as little as 10euro, and printing the Venezuelan flag onto them.

Rincon posted on Twitter, wrote: "Givova we demand maximum respect to our national shirt and each member of the team. Not having shirts to play today and printing some they bought is regrettable, you are embarrassing."

The shirts were notably different to the ones played in the game against Argentina - a game which they won 3-1, and Rondon scored.

Retailer Decathlon, where the shirts were allegedly bought, also took to Twitter and seemingly backed the claims made by Rondon and his team-mates.

"Yesterday, Venezuela played friendly against the selection of Catalonia. Yesterday, Venezuela had to be in gallery of jerseys. Yesterday Venezuela played its match with disguised @ Quechua T-shirts."

Quechua, the firm who designed the shirts, have also moved to back the claims by changing their Twitter bio to: "We are not sponsors of the Venezuelan Football Federation."
