Salomon Kalou shakes hands with teammates and interrupts test in shocking video

Hertha Berlin forward Salomon Kalou has landed himself in hot water with German football authorities after posting a video on social media mocking the coronavirus crisis.

In the clip, Kalou can be seen shaking hands at Hertha's training base and mockingly shouting "coronavirus".

Kalou, formerly of Chelsea, then enters a room and interrupts a test for team mate Jordan Torunarigha.

German football clubs are back in training ahead of an anticipated return to Bundesliga action later this month behind closed doors.

But any resumption of football hinges on the opinion of chancellor Angela Merkel and the German government.

Hertha Berlin sit six points above the relegation play-off spot in the Bundesliga while Bayern Munich lead by four points.

The German football league announced on Monday that tests have found 10 positive cases across the top two divisions.

Kalou has since apologised for his actions. The 34-year-old said: "I am sorry if I gave the impression that I am not taking Coronavirus seriously.

"I apologise for this. The opposite is the case, because I am especially worried about the people in Africa, where medical care there is nowhere near as good as in Germany.”
