Salman Khan-starrer Sultan features Indore wrestler

Hero worship stays unfazed with time, proves a 450-strong group of youngsters, all die-hard fans of actor Salman Khan, who have booked an entire movie theatre to enjoy the first day first show of film “Sultan” in Indore on Wednesday.

The group named New Bombay Gym has been doing so since the release of Salman Khan-starrer “Tere Naam” in 2003. What’s more, a member of the group and wrestler from Indore, Animesh Thakur, has got a chance to share screen space with the superstar himself.

“There is a scene where I am wrestling with another kid and Salman is watching us. Our bout links to a flashback scene where Salman is reminded of his wrestling times as a child,” said Thakur, a Class 9 student of DC Memorial School, Indore.

Animesh, popular as Kuber among his wrestling mates, was recommended for the scene by his mentors Jagdish Kaliraman and Kripashankar Patel. He was then taken to Mumbai for the shoot at the film city in Goregaon.

Excited to share his experience of meeting Khan, Thakur said, “The shooting took place sometime in January. I was very excited about meeting him. He asked me about my parents, my city and when I told him that I’m from Indore, he asked me about my locality. Then he revealed that he is from Indore too.”
