Salman Khan's security beefed up on 'Sikandar' sets in Hyderabad following Lawrence Bishnoi threat

In light of recent threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, security measures for Bollywood star Salman Khan have reportedly been heightened significantly on the set of his upcoming film, 'Sikandar', in Hyderabad.

Police sources told PTI, "The shooting of Salman Khan-starrer 'Sikandar' was going on at a star hotel in the old city of Hyderabad amid tight security against the backdrop of threats received by the top actor from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The security has been tight as Khan is a 'Y plus' category security protected."

While the police refused to share any more details, the report further states that Khan has his own security in addition to that of the government.

The Bollywood star, who had earlier received death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was issued a fresh threat, officials said on Friday. The threat message was sent to Mumbai traffic police's WhatsApp helpline Thursday night.

The sender of the message threatened the actor and demanded Rs 5 crore, claiming it was being made on behalf of the Bishnoi gang. Besides, the individual also threatened the lyricist of the song 'Main Sikandar Hoon', an official said.

On a complaint by traffic officials, the Worli police have registered a case and launched a probe.

This is said to be the fifth death threat to the actor in the past months.

Early this week, fellow Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan also received a threat and was advised against making public appearances. His house Mannat, was also barricaded by the police.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Salman has been busy shooting his film at Taj Falaknuma Palace with co-star Rashmika Mandanna. The film is currently slated to release on Eid 2025.
