Salman Khan has revealed that he’s not keen on changing Bollywood for Hollywood.

The star, whose latest film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, has broken box-office records, has talked about his reluctance to follow in the footsteps of Irrfan Khan, seen in The Amazing Spider-Man and Jurassic World.

“I like to work in India a lot and I like to deliver dialogues in Hindi,” Salman told the Hindustan Times. “Suddenly, after [delivering] Hindi dialogues over so many years, if I do dialogues in English, it would look a bit weird.”

As well as scoring the biggest ever opening in India for a Bollywood film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo received the widest ever release for a Hindi film in the US. But Khan remains settled in India, where he also hosts Big Brother.

“I am happy being here,” he said to the Indian Express. “I have earned respect here and it has taken time for me to achieve it. I would have to work again to earn that respect and love [in Hollywood].”

There was one caveat to his ruling though. “If it’s a film related to [Indians], I might do it, but I don’t have any interest or craze for it,” he said. “I have no interest in doing Hollywood films. Our Hindi film industry should increase so much that there should be no comparison.”

Khan is still one of India’s biggest box-office draws despite a recent conviction for a hit-and-run accident.
