Sallynoggin's Ste Brown teams up with Gardai to spread Covid message to young people in catchy new song

Sallynoggin's budding young rap star Ste Brown has teamed up with the Gardai to spread the message to young people about staying safe with their friends during the Covid pandemic.

The young Dub rose to fame over the summer for his song "Noggin" where he raps about the best parts of his local community and includes the iconic line: "You would never see a lambo, come to my gaff if you want a saussy sambo."

And The Brown Lad, 13, released a brand new tune overnight with the help from Dun Laoghaire Garda Station promoting a message of safety during the current public health crisis.

'Lets Do It For Eachother' promotes social distancing and mask wearing amongst teenagers to protect their family and friends.

Ste Brown gave a shout out to the third years in his school for their help along with "everyone behind the scenes" as the Dublin rapper spread his positive message around Covid (S.Browner/ Instagram)

The music video which has been viewed by almost 100,000 people across Instagram and Facebook begins with Ste grabbing some food from the local takeaway San Siro.

His friends message their group chat online to see if anyone is available to hang out at "Joey's".

But, after meeting up with his mates at a local park, Gardai arrive.

Thankfully, the officers just come to have a chat and spread the message of staying safe while with their friends.

Some of the lyrics spit in the rap song include genius lines like: "Lets not act the fool, keep the two metre rule/ why don't we do it outside, worked in school" and "We all know it's not that big of an ask, just to keep a little distance and wear a mask."

One listener commented on the Instagram video above that the song is "catchier than Covid".

The Noggin's answer to Tupac put the video together with the help from third year students in his school Holy Child Community School alongside Rob Clifford on video production, Peter Jones on music and Adam McNamara, the Recording Engineer.

The video collaboration was part of An Garda Siochana's Communtiy Policing initiative and included Inspector John Dowling, Garda Marion Power, and Chief Superintendant Mathew Nyland from Dun Laoghaoire Garda Station.
