Sally Phillips has paid tribute to her "vibrant and beautiful" late co-star Kelly Preston ahead of the release of their final film together.
The Bridget Jones actress stars alongside Preston in new movie, Off The Rails, getting close to the star as they filmed in Spain together.
Sadly, Preston died aged 57 in July 2020, following a secret battle with cancer that she hid from the cast and crew while filming what would be her final film.
Speaking on Loose Women today, Sally said: "That's what people do - they go through it on their own because of worries about insurance for the film, and working again afterwards.
"We've had a couple of high profile examples of that recently, haven't we? Chadwick [Boseman] and Helen McCrory didn't tell anyone.
"She was so bloomin' beautiful. And so vibrant and you would never have known. She was so professional."
In a heartbreaking parallel, Off The Rails follows an 18-year-old girl named Maddie, who takes her late mother’s place on a girls trip after she dies of cancer.
Fulfilling her mother’s dream to complete a road trip she began taking when she was younger, Maddie (played by Elizabeth Dormer-Phillips) joins three pals - now all in their 50s- and soon learns more about her mother’s life.
Preston was survived by her husband, John Travolta, daughter Ella, and son, Benjamin.
The couple had a second son, Jett, who died in 2009 at the age of 16 after having a seizure.
Announcing the news, Travolta released a statement on Instagram that read: "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer.
"Kelly's love and life will always be remembered. I will be taking some time to be there for my children who have lost their mother, so forgive me in advance if you don't hear from us for a while."
Her daughter Ella also paid tribute to her mother, and wrote: "I have never met anyone as courageous, strong, beautiful and loving as you.
"Anyone who is lucky enough to have known you or to have ever been in your presence will agree that you have a glow and a light that never ceases to shine and that makes anyone around you feel instantly happy. Thank you for being there for me no matter what.
"Thank you for your love. Thank you for your help and thank you for making this world a better place.
"You have made life so beautiful and I know you will continue to do so always. I love you so much mama."
