Salkeld Street incident: Police discover £500k worth of cannabis in Laurieston warehouse

A cannabis cultivation worth almost half a million pounds has been discovered at a warehouse in Laurieston.

Police officers were tipped off by a member of the public after plants were spotted within the warehouse on Salkeld Street.

Investigators raced to the scene around 12.10pm on Monday, July 13.

Around 800 plants were discovered at the site with an estimated total street value of £480,000.

Detective Sergeant Graham Scott, of Baird Street CID, said: "Enquiries are ongoing however this is an example of how important information from the public can be."

"If anyone has any information relating to this incident, please contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 1311 of 13 July or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
