Salisbury Crags: Rescue operation underway as emergency services race to fallen local

A rescue operation in underway at Salisbury Crags in Edinburgh, with videos showing a large emergency service presence.

An eyewitness told Edinburgh Live that mountain rescue and other emergency services had reached the person who appears to be on the ground at Holyrood Park.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment, as well as the Scottish Ambulance Service.

In the video, submitted to Edinburgh Live, a number of emergency vehicles can be seen at the the foot of the cliff on Queens Drive.

A police helicopter can also been seen in the skies above the incident, as well as several Scottish Ambulance Service vehicles.

Situated in Holyrood, the Salisbury Crags are popular climbing spots amongst tourists as well as locals.

Standing at around 46 metres, Arthur's Seat stands at the centre of the park.
