Salim Lamrani shares unique insight into 'the lion' Gaetano Berardi we didn't know

Salim Lamrani is the gift that keeps on giving to Leeds United fans. He is the fascinating right-hand man of Marcelo Bielsa - translator, academic and once described 'the most overqualified man in Ligue 1'.

He's taken to social media again, in his series detailing the close relationships he shares with the Leeds squad.

It began with nicknames for every player - Jamie 'the tornado' Shackelton, Matuesz 'the lightning' Klich and Liam 'The Example' Cooper - throughout last season.

Now, Lamrani is taking fans one step closer, detailing the stories behind those names, and ultimately the man behind the footballer.

He recently focused on Stuart 'the generous' Dallas with a heartwarming tale about Stuart's offer to Salim at Christmas.

Now he's turned his attentions to 'the lion'. This is of course fan favourite Gaetano Berardi.

Salim, in the post on Twitter, talks about his 'deep respect' for him, and how he could 'integrate into any technical staff once his career as a professional finishes'.

Ever imagined what having a coffee with Gaetano Berardi would be like? Many fans would jump at the chance. Academic Salim says it was a 'source of enrichment for him' - and this is coming from a very educated and well-travelled man. Fascinating!
