Salford Red Devils reveal 2021 squad numbers

Salford Red Devils have launched their squad numbers for the upcoming campaign.

Head coach Richard Marshall leads the club into a new era following his appointment ahead of the campaign, taking over from Ian Watson.

As is often the case with the Red Devils, plenty of changes have occurred during the off-season. Not only has there been a change of coach, but ten new players have arrived to bolster the squad ahead of the new campaign.

Three of those players have been awarded starting jerseys. Morgan Escare, tasked with replacing the outgoing Niall Evalds, will wear number 1. Former Wigan Warriors winger Joe Burgess has been handed number 5 and Elijah Taylor, the New Zealand international who has arrived from Wests Tigers, will wear 13.

Scotland international Danny Addy will wear 14 while Harvey Livett and Dec Patton, who have both joined the club from Warrington, will wear 20 and 29 respectively.

2020 Dream Team inductee Krisnan Inu has been moved from number 5 to number 4 while Dan Sarginson has taken the number 23 jersey, despite wearing number 4 last year.

Despite the departure of Watson to Huddersfield, the Red Devils are confident that they can continue reaching major finals.

In 2019 they shocked everyone as they reached the Super League Grand Final, eventually losing to St Helens. Last year, they reached the Challenge Cup Final before agonisingly losing to Leeds Rhinos 17-16.

With the likes of Kallum Watkins and Darcy Lussick on board, Salford fans will be confident that they can compete for honours once again.

Salford Red Devils squad numbers: 1 Morgan Escare, 2 Ken Sio, 3 Kallum Watkins, 4 Krisnan Inu, 5 Joe Burgess, 6 Tui Lolohea, 7 Kevin Brown, 8 Lee Mossop, 9 Andy Ackers, 10 Seb Ikahihifo, 11 Ryan Lannon, 12 Pauli Pauli, 13 Elijah Taylor, 14 Danny Addy, 15 Ollie Roberts, 16 Greg Burke, 17 Josh Johnson, 18 Chris Atkin, 19 Elliot Kear, 20 Harvey Livett, 21 James Greenwood, 22 Rhys Williams, 23 Dan Sarginson, 24 Matty Costello, 25 Jack Ormondroyd, 26 Jack Wells, 27 Sam Luckley, 28 Darcy Lussick, 29 Dec Patton, 30 Connor Aspey.
