A woman was found murdered and a man critically injured at a property in Salford in the early hours of today.
Police were called to the scene in Walkden following a report of concerns for her welfare.
The body of a woman in her 20s was found by Greater Manchester Police officers.
A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital where he is fighting for his life.
An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing.

Formal identification and a Home Office Post Mortem examination are yet to take place, the force said in a statement.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Packer, of GMP’s Salford district, said: “This is an incredibly tragic incident in which a young woman has lost her life and we are doing all we can to support her family at this unimaginably difficult time.
“We have a team of specialist officers at the scene carrying out investigative work and the scene will remain in place throughout the day.
