ITV's hit competition The Million Pound Cube is returning tonight, kicking off with none other than Salford -born comedian Jason Manford as its first contestant.
Jason and his brother Stephen will be battling the pressure in one of the most difficult game shows on TV at 9pm.
The contest is back after a six-year-break and the stakes are even higher this time, with a huge £1 million prize up for grabs - up from £250,000.
Tonight The Cube will kick off with a star-studded charity edition, featuring the likes of presenter Jason Manford, Mo Gilligan, Kevin Clifton and Stacey Dooley.
The celebrities will be taking on the high-octane challenges, which see contestants attempt seemingly simple tasks within the confines of the iconic Perspex box in front of the ever-watchful eyes of host Phillip Schofield.
The size of the cube remains the same and the challenges remain the same - the only difference is that the show was filmed without a live audience due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Each pair of players will have nine lives to complete seven games, each worth an increasing amount of money, as they move closer to the huge jackpot. Players will have to overcome extreme nerves and frustration as they take on deceivingly simple tasks such as throwing a ball into a container, balancing on a beam or stopping a clock at precisely 10 seconds.
In pictures tweeted by Jason ahead of the programme tonight, the brothers appear to struggle as the pressure mounts.
Jason said: “I decided to take part in The Million Pound Cube as it was one of my favourite shows, I absolutely love it. My brother also absolutely loves it.
"It felt like something I could do, without requiring general knowledge, and it was for such a huge amount of money that could help a charity at this very difficult time."
The Million Pound Cube Celebrity airs on Saturday October 17 at 9pm on ITV.
