Salesforce is acquiring Bluebirds, an AI-driven prospecting startup that helps sales teams identify and connect with high-potential leads using data enrichment and lead intelligence. The company has already signed a definitive agreement, and the acquisition is expected to close in Q3 of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2026.
The acquisition is said to strengthen Salesforce’s Sales Cloud and Agentforce offerings by integrating Bluebirds’ agentic technology, which automates top-of-funnel tasks and reduces manual work for sales reps. Once the acquisition is complete, Salesforce is planning to embed Bluebirds’ capabilities directly into its platform to streamline lead generation and improve seller productivity.
Every sales team wants to spend less time on busywork and more time closing deals. Bluebirds’ technology will help us deliver smarter, AI-powered prospecting that makes sellers more productive from day one.
Kris Billmaier, EVP and GM of Sales Cloud at Salesforce
If we talk about Bluebirds, then it was founded to solve a common problem: sales teams juggling too many disconnected tools to find and qualify leads. Its team brings experience in sales data, AI, and agentic systems from leading tech firms.
However, this is not the only AI acquisition that we have seen in recent times. SAP is also acquiring a company called SmartRecruiters, which is a talent acquisition platform. With this acquisition, the German software giant wants to bolster its SuccessFactors suite with advanced recruiting tools and AI-driven hiring capabilities.
