Women in the UK have stocked up on adult toys ahead of the World Cup, new sales figures reveal. Purchases soared by 32% in the run-up to last Monday's games according to data released by GetFruityCo.com.
Looking at across the country, Liverpool women have ordered more toys than anywhere else on mainland Britain. London came secon, followed by Bath. Brighton and Nottingham also made the top five.
Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Bristol and Norwich completed the top 10.
“With the World Cup consisting of more than 60 games, a lot of blokes will be focused on the football rather than their wife or partner," Adam Wright of GetFruityCo.com said.
“There really isn’t going to be much respite when some start as early as 10am and others don’t finish until 9pm. So, it may be the case that women will be spending more time on their own than they usually do, unless they are football fans too.
“The increase in sales has been quite significant. Generally, this time of year sales are steady but there has been a sharp spike recently.
“The uplift following the England game was interesting too. Perhaps women are realising that England is going to playing more than three games, which is good for the country, players and fans, but not so good for keeping the flames of passion burning in the bedroom.”
