Revolution Beauty plans to float on Aim
(Picture: Revolution Beauty)Newly-floated Revolution Beauty notched up sales growth of 35% in the first half, ahead of the peak trading season that has now started.
The AIM-listed make-up brand, which floated at 160p per share in July, said revenue reached £78 million in the six months to August 31.
The firm is known for its goods being marketed on social media by beauty influencers, and it has around 3.2 million followers on Instagram.
Revolution Beauty is sold online as well as over 14,000 shops, such as Superdrug and Boots branches, in 45 countries.
Chief executive Adam Minto said it has seen sales increase recently as the industry enters its seasonal peak trading period as wholesalers prepare for Christmas.
The company said: “Further expansion of Revolution Beauty's brands, categories and trading partners is envisaged to drive growth during the latter part of H2.”
The boss added that the firm has got deliveries of products in earlier than normal amid longer shipping times it observed earlier in the year.
Minto told the Evening Standard: “To date there has been no impact on supply to UK wholesale partners, and we are not expecting any.”
Shares in the company gained 12.25p, or more than 8%, to 160p.
Minto said: “The long-term growth opportunity in mass beauty remains vast with more consumers switching to online, while the market as a whole continues to grow rapidly globally.”
A recent launch was a ‘Corpse bride’ Halloween make-up collection that Minto said notched up sales of £300,000 in just two days.
