Sale agreed on 'unbelievably' priced tiny beach hut on the Welsh coast

A tiny beach hut that went up for sale with an "unbelievable" guide price - almost matching local house prices - has been sold.

The wooden hut on Abersoch's Porth Mawr beach was valued at a staggering £175k when it was first listed for sale this summer.

The beach - and its famous shacks - has been known for its high prices at action in recent years with with the record standing at the £160,000 secured for a bathing hut in 2017, reports North Wales Live.

But despite the price tag matching a home in the area, the hut has no mains electric and owners are not even able to stay overnight.

In comparison the average house price in Gwynedd is around £184,000, which is itself a major increase on 12 months ago and has prompted concerns over local people being priced out of the market by holiday home buyers.

In spite of the large price tag - described as "unbelievable" when it went up for sale - the hut has now been taken off the listings of agent Beresford Adams.

A source said a sale had now been agreed.

Beresford Adams would not comment and it is not known if the £175K guide price was surpassed.

This particular hut lies about 150 yards from the golf slipway towards the South Caernarfonshire Yacht Club.

The Beresford Adams listing said: "The hut is a reasonably modern constructed hut (13 5 x 10 6) the main structure is built of modern materials, plastic coated sheeting with timber flooring and timber cladded internally with a changing cubicle, work top double base cupboards and double wall cupboard above.

"The hut is ready to use, just sit back and relax in a deck chair and embrace the sea air and marvel at the wonderful views across the Bay to St Tudwals Islands."
