BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh EOW on Thursday raided a manager of a cooperative society in Shivpuri district and unearthed alleged disproportionate assets worth crores of rupees.
Madhuri Sharan, a manager with Prathmik Krishi Sakh Sehkari Samiti, has a pay of Rs 13,000, and the total salary earnings of his career add up to Rs 13 lakh, but details of properties worth crores and ornaments were recovered from his home, said EOW officers.
Officials said they had received several complaints against Sharan. After investigation, raids were carried out at his residential and official premises around 5am on Thursday. Documents pertaining to several farms and plots in various regions of Shivpuri district were found at his home, say officers
The documents are under scrutiny. Sharan has been booked under Prevention of Corruption Act. This is the second major action by EOW in the last 48 hours. On Wednesday, a forest guard was arrested in Dewas while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. He is 10 days away from retirement.
