Sakho, Wickham, Zaha - The latest Palace injury news and expected return dates ahead of Norwich

Crystal Palace could be without key defender Mamadou Sakho for the visit of Norwich City tomorrow (Saturday).

The Eagles host Daniel Farke's men at Selhurst Park, with Palace looking to continue their unbeaten run at home this season, having picked up five points from their three Premier League fixtures in SE25 so far this campaign.

In contrast, Norwich are yet to pick up a point away from home this season, with three defeats on the road since returning to the top flight.

And the Canaries have an injury crisis ahead of the game, with Norwich set to be without at least seven players for the clash in south London.

Palace are much better off on the injury front, but have a couple of concerns, with Roy Hodgson confirming the latest injury news at his pre-match pres conference this afternoon (Friday).

Below, we take a look at the latest Palace injury news, including when the players could potentially return for Palace.

Mamadou Sakho

The Frenchman recently returned from injury and has featured in each of the Eagles' last three games, starting the last two against Tottenham and Wolves.

However, he is a doubt for the game against Norwich, with Hodgson confirming that a late decision will be made over whether or not he will be involved.

"We have a problem with Mamadou Sakho. He’s feeling a slight strain so we don’t know as yet if he’ll recover in time to play but we’ll know tomorrow morning," Hodgson said.

Connor Wickham

The former Sunderland striker missed the recent games against Tottenham and Wolves, having picked up an unspecified injury over the international break.

He has been back in training this week, but Hodgson said he will not feature against Norwich, with the former Sunderland man lacking match fitness.

"He's trained this week, back fit again, training all week so that's good," said Hodgson.

"No [he won't feature tomorrow], he needs to play. The thing about Connor Wickham is he hasn't been able to string a run of games together. He's hardly played at all. The important thing now is he’s over the injury. We’ve got some games coming up where he can prove not only he’s over the injury but his match fitness."

As such, Wickham is likely to play for Palace's U23 side to build up his match fitness, as James Tomkins did earlier this week.

Wilfried Zaha

The Ivory Coast international is expected to be fit for tomorrow's game, despite picking up a knock last weekend.

Zaha played the full 90 minutes against Wolves, but Hodgson has admitted that he was feeling the effects of a kick to the foot.

"He got a nasty kick on the top of his foot after Wolves," said Hodgson.

"He wanted to come out and take part as much as he could but he wasn’t going to take part in the kicking part. He will be fine for the weekend."
