Saira Khan says she will not return to screens on Loose Women, even for a farewell show.
Announcing her departure on Sunday, the 50-year-old said it simply wasn't her "style" to have a big send off.
She wrote on Instagram : "I don’t like formal goodbyes, so I won’t be on the show to look back at my 'best bits'. That’s not how I want to say goodbye."
She said of her choice to move on after five years: "It wasn’t an easy decision, but one that I needed to make in order to grow myself in other ways."
The personality said Loose Women had been good for her, admitting: "I came to the show a troubled soul and I will eternally be grateful for the platform @loosewomen gave me to share, speak up and out."
And Saira said she would miss her co-stars, who she now counts as "my very close friends".
She said: "I feel honoured and privileged to have sat alongside them and learnt from them."
As for her plans after the show, she hopes to grow her skincare business.
And she also has hopes for the future of Loose Women, saying: "I’d love my @loosewomen seat to be given to either a gay, transgender or non binary person - that will help the show to be more reflective of the world we live in. That’s what I would do if I was in charge."
Saira's departure comes hot on heels of the loss of her former co-host Andrea McLean, who finished up her time on Loose Women shortly before Christmas.
