Saira Khan teases going naked on Loose Women after stripping off for racy photoshoot

Saira Khan almost bared all on Monday's episode of Loose Women.

As lead panelist Andrea McLean announced what was coming up in the show, Saira, 49, suddenly appeared wearing nothing but a dressing gown.

The mum-of-two pulled her robe off her shoulder to reveal her bare skin and winked for the camera.

It was all to promote her steamy photoshoot in this week's OK! magazine, in which she stripped completely naked save for a towel covering her modesty.

Speaking on today's Loose Women, Saira said she wanted to pose for the photos because she finally felt "at peace" with her body.

Saira explained: "I'm 50 next year and I thought, I've got to make peace with myself. I don't want my 50th year to be full of hang ups and 'What are people going to say? I can't do this and I can't do that.'

"There was a point a few months ago where I thought, actually I'm OK, I'm 50 next year and I've gone through a lot.

"I'm happily married. I've got two amazing children, I've got a great career. I've never asked for anything from anyone all my life and actually I'm alright. I'm fit and I'm healthy so I'm gonna celebrate it for myself."

There was another more personal reason to do the photoshoot as she explained she'd had body hangups ever since she was sexually abused by a family member as a child.

Saira continued: "My body, when I was young it was taken advantage of against my will. From that moment I never saw this as a sexual thing, it was something that was just there.

"I didn't have a mental connection."

As she got older, she started to worry about not being stick thin.

She returned to the panel fully dressed (ITV)

She went on: "I had big thighs, a bottom and no boobs so my body I felt was never in fashion.

"I could never show my body because I do come from a modest culture and I respect the people that live in it. I've never fitted in with the ideals of it.

"For me to think about showing my body was being shameful."

Saira's interview with OK! Magazine is on sale tomorrow
