Saipan row between Roy Keane and Mick McCarthy subject of 14-minute video on American website

An American sports website has released a 14-minute video telling of Roy Keane and Mick McCarthy’s infamous row in Saipan.

SB Nation posted the video to YouTube, where it has already reached over 150,000 views.

It is an episode featured in their ‘Beef History’ series, where they give detailed accounts of famous feuds from the past.

The video not only explains the most famous part of their ‘beef’, when Keane left the Ireland squad ahead of the 2002 World Cup, but recounts the days when both were players in the national side together.

They kick off the video with Keane and McCarthy having to be separated after then Irish captain McCarthy stepped in on a dispute between Keane and Jack Charlton.

They even include Keane going back on his 2006 apology and claiming it was ‘fake’.

However the biggest moment of the video, and this feud, is the disastrous Saipan trip.
