The New Orleans Saints continue to make roster cuts as the latest move was undrafted rookie Shaquan Davis out of South Carolina State, according to Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football.
The 6-foot-5 target became a fan favorite throughout training camp and the preseason. He had seven catches for 101 yards in preseason action. Every year there are players that people love to watch and talk about through camp, but don’t make it to the final roster. Davis is the most recent.
When it came down to it, the Saints didn’t have room on the roster for a big bodied target and opted to go with some more versatile players on the full roster. It should be expected that Davis will go to the practice squad if he makes it through the waiver wire.
