Saints to wear Color Rush alternate uniforms again vs. Cowboys

Dress your best, New Orleans Saints fans: the black and gold will be wearing white jerseys with white pants again in Week 4 of the NFL regular season, having done so last week against the Seattle Seahawks. They’ll keep the Color Rush alternate uniforms ready for a second game in as many weeks, this time versus the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Saints are embracing a white-out theme, with 75,000 white rally towels distributed to fans at their seats, per an email shared with season-ticket holders.

The white-on-white look has become a favorite of Saints fans in recent years, and it’s brought the team no shortage of success — despite losing their first two games in the Color Rush threads, the Saints have gone on a tear to win four straight, giving them the second-best winning percentage in the Sean Payton era (.667, trailing only the white jersey-gold pants combination).

Here’s the winning percentage for each of the Saints’ different uniform permutations since 2006:

  • White jersey, gold pants: 33-18, .647
  • White jersey, white pants: 4-2, .667
  • White jersey, black pants: 90-56, .616
  • Black jersey, black pants: 26-21, .553
  • Black jersey, gold pants: 40-49, .449

For their part, the Cowboys will be wearing their typical navy blue home uniforms; Dallas announced their full schedule of uniform combinations back in August.
