Collingwood great Tony Shaw has labelled the Magpies a "rabble" and called for the AFL club's board challenge to be brought to a head after their loss to St Kilda.
The Magpies trailed by 49 points late in the third term of Sunday's clash before piling on six unanswered goals until falling short 10.10 (70) to 8.13 (61) at the MCG.
Shaw, the club's 1990 premiership captain and one-time coach, slammed the largely listless showing, where Collingwood kicked just one goal across the opening two quarters.
"I hope (Collingwood football boss) Graham Wright's sitting in the coaches' box today because to kick one goal in one half of football is not good enough as a whole organisation," Shaw told 3AW.
"They've got to get something done here, make some decisions from what they want for the rest of the year.
"The question that needs to be asked of (interim coach) Rob Harvey now in this role is 'what are we trying to achieve with these players over the last (seven) weeks of the year?'
"As a Collingwood person, I don't care if we don't win because we're not going to play finals. But what I want to see is the future."
The loss comes a month after former Nine Network managing director Jeff Browne announced his plans to challenge president Mark Korda.
"We know there's going to be a board challenge, we need this quicker now," Shaw said.
"We need to get settled so we can get to the draft. It's got to happen, it just can't go to the end of the year with this rabble the way it's going."
Harvey said the Magpies' late fightback "masked" being "outworked" for the opening three quarters.
"(It was) bitterly disappointing to be beaten up around the ball so much in the first three quarters," Harvey said.
"They were a lot better, they outworked us, particularly from the stoppage out. It was a smashing, really, in the first three quarters."
Collingwood's Josh Daicos (finger) was substituted out for Finlay Macrae in the last quarter.
"We'll get that looked at overnight. Dislocation but possibly some sort of fracture," Harvey said.
He hinted the Magpies would look to their VFL for changes.
St Kilda's second consecutive win put them just two points outside the top eight but coach Brett Ratten said their drop-off left a "sour taste".
"To have the three quarters at a very good standard and then just to let the last one really slip away - that just leaves you sometimes a little bit confused (as to) where we're at," he said.
"We know the first three quarters is good enough to be playing consistent footy but we just can't have those lapses."
The Saints should welcome back Zak Jones (quad) at either AFL or VFL level next week.
