Saints remaining draft picks after Gardner-Johnson trade

The New Orleans Saints made another aggressive trade up to land playmaking Florida Gators defensive back Chauncey Gardner-Johnson. That followed an earlier leap up the board to add Texas A&M Aggies center Erik McCoy. So how many selections do they have left in the 2019 NFL Draft? How many future picks have they already given up?

In order to go get Gardner-Johnson, the Saints sent the New York Jets their picks in the fourth and fifth rounds of this year’s draft. The move to get McCoy cost them their second and sixth rounders, and a 2020 second round pick. But it returned the pick needed to select McCoy, along with the fourth rounder they swapped for Gardner-Johnson. That’s a lot to follow through, so here’s where the Saints stand:

2019 draft picks

  • Round 4, No. 116
  • Round 6, No. 177
  • Round 7, No. 231
  • Round 7, No. 244
