Several members of the New Orleans Saints were eagerly watching the 2019 NFL Draft on Friday night, waiting to find out which rookie prospect would be joining their team. And when they got their answer, team leaders like defensive end Cameron Jordan, wide receiver Michael Thomas, and left tackle Terron Armstead were quick to welcome their new teammate into the fold: Texas A&M Aggies center Erik McCoy.
Jordan, Thomas, and Armstead shared messages with McCoy from their official Twitter accounts, which are embedded below. For his part, McCoy is excited to join his new team and play with quarterback Drew Brees — in his words, the greatest quarterback in the NFL. It’s clear that McCoy understands the role he’ll be stepping into with the team, and what they can accomplish together. And his new teammates are just as fired-up to get to work with him:
