The New Orleans Pelicans selected Duke superstar Zion Williamson with the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, ushering in a new era of basketball to the city. And nobody may have been as happy to see it as the players filling the New Orleans Saints locker room.
Defensive end Cameron Jordan was on hand at the Pelicans draft party on Fulton Street in New Orleans, while wide receiver Michael Thomas took a break from his vacation in Europe to celebrate the city’s big new addition. Running back Alvin Kamara praised the move on Twitter and punter Thomas Morstead, surrounded by his young children, was quite literally jumping for joy.
