Saints favored to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LIV

The New Orleans Saints went throughout the offseason widely considered to be Super Bowl contenders, having inched closer and closer to a championship in each of the last two years. Now that the scope of the NFL is beginning to take shape, the 4-1 Saints appear to be distancing themselves from the rest of their conference in hopes of representing the NFC in Super Bowl LIV.

According to the latest odds from Bet MGM, only two teams have better chances of reaching the Super Bowl, and they both play in the AFC: the reigning champion 5-0 New England Patriots (+300) and upstart 4-1 Kansas City Chiefs (+600). The Saints (+800) round out the top tier after going on a three-game winning streak with backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater stepping in to relieve Drew Brees, who is managing an injury to his throwing hand.

Other Super Bowl-contending teams include the 4-1 Green Bay Packers (+1200) and 3-2 Philadelphia Eagles (+1200), as well as the downward-spiraling 3-2 Dallas Cowboys (+1600) and 3-2 Los Angeles Rams (+1600). It’s a crowded race for second place in the NFC, and if the Saints keep stacking wins with Brees on the mend, there’s no reason they shouldn’t control the path to Super Bowl LIV once the playoffs begin in January.
