Saints CB P.J. Williams suspended 2 games, will miss tilt vs. Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals will take on the New Orleans Saints on the road in Week 8. Quarterback Drew Brees eyes a potential return that week but the Saints will be down one defensive starter. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, cornerback P.J. Williams has been suspended by the NFL for two games on the league’s substance abuse policy.

Williams has appeared in all six games this season and started five of them. He has 18 tackles, a sack and has broken up two passes.

The suspension comes as a result of a DUI arrest earlier this year.

New Orleans’ defense has been solid this season. Williams is the Saints’ third cornerback behind Eli Apple and Marshon Lattimore. Williams’ absence likely means the Cardinals will see Patrick Robinson when he Saints play a nickel defense. Robinson has only played nine defensive snaps this season.
