Saints announce four more undrafted free agent signings

The New Orleans Saints announced signed contracts with four more undrafted free agents: running back Devine Ozigbo, defensive tackle Kenny Bigelow Jr., tight end Jake Powell, and cornerback Jordan Wyatt. Each contract is set to last three years.

Ozigbo was a breakout star for Nebraska in 2018, excelling in new head coach Scott Frost’s outside zone running scheme and run-pass option offense. He figures to use his size (6-foot-0, 225 pounds) and speed elusiveness to good effect in search of a roster spot. He was named to the All-Big Ten third-team.

Bigelow began his collegiate career at USC, appearing in 19 games from 2013 to 2017 but missing two years to injury. He received a sixth year of eligibility and transferred to West Virginia, where he started a full 12-game season and logged 20 tackles (15 solo, 4.5 for loss of yards). He was selected for the All-Big 12 second-team.

Powell played for Monmouth, a smaller program, but the 6-foot-6, 230 pounder still earned All-Big South first-team recognition in his senior year despite making just five appearances before losing half of his senior year to an unspecified injury. In his 26-game career, Powell collected 54 catches for 642 yards and six touchdown receptions.

Wyatt is an interesting prospect, having appeared in 44 games (41 starts) for SMU and amassed 146 tackles (116 solo), 11 interceptions, 32 pass breakups, eight forced fumbles (two recoveries), and a sack. His senior season was shaky after a solid outing as a junior, as he was working back from an ACL injury only to do deal with a lingering hamstring issue. If healthy, he has a real shot at impressing this summer.

These four undrafted free agents joined five previous signees: wide receiver Emmanuel Butler (Northern Arizona), linebacker Chase Hansen (Utah), guard Mike Herndon (Pittsburgh), defensive end Corbin Kaufusi (BYU), and defensive back Darius Williams (Colorado State-Pueblo). Other undrafted free agent agreements have been reported, but not yet made official. Stay tuned.
