#13 Saint Louis

The Saint Louis Billikens are one of the surprise members of the Big Dance thanks to a four-game winning streak to finish the season with a 23-12 record and the A-10 Tournament championship, which earned them an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Saint Louis defeated St. Bonaventure in the A-10 final by erasing a 15-point halftime deficit, and it was guard Jordan Goodwin who led them to victory. Goodwin and top scorer Javon Bess are the Billikens’ biggest hopes of a Cinderella run in March Madness, and the team’s confidence is at an all-time high right now.

#4 Virginia Tech

Thanks to a third straight year of great success under head coach Buzz Williams, who led his team to a 24-8 regular season record and the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, the Virginia Tech Hokies earned their highest ever seed in the NCAA Tournament and will enter March Madness with hopes of a deep run. The Hokies won six of their last nine games, all of them without senior point guard and Virginia Tech’s all-time assists leader, Justin Robinson. The good news for Virginia Tech is that Robinson was cleared to play in the tournament after recovering from a foot injury, and his return along with the great play of sophomore guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker, the team’s top scorer. The Hokies beat Duke less than a month ago, proving they can defeat anyone. And now that they’re fully healthy, they’ll be even more dangerous.
