Sainsbury's new fuel discount deal for customers spending £60 or more on groceries

Supermarket shoppers who spend £60 or more will be able to get discounted fuel from Sainsbury's.

The chain is bringing back its fuel discount deal from today (Friday) for customers who spend that amount on groceries.

Shoppers who buy goods online at sainsburys.co.uk or in store between August 22-27 will be eligible for 10p discount per litre on unleaded petrol, super unleaded petrol, diesel or LPG up to a maximum of 100 litres.

Shoppers will then have 14 days to redeem the money-off coupon at any of Sainsbury’s 306 petrol stations dotted across the UK (but it isn't valid to use at Pay@Pump), reports MirrorOnline.

Speaking about the offer, David Pegg, fuel buying manager at Sainsbury’s, said: “To celebrate the August Bank Holiday weekend we’re offering customers 10p per litre off fuel when they spend £60 or more on groceries at a Sainsbury’s supermarket or online. Whatever customers have planned for the long weekend, we hope this offer will put money back in their pockets and help them enjoy the summer.”

Customers will also be able to collect one Nectar point per litre during the promotion too.

It follows a new deal launched by Topcashback offering motorists £10 off their next top up when they keep hold of their receipt.

The deal is available to all drivers and works at any petrol station in the UK including supermarkets such as Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's and Morrisons. It also includes the Co-operative, Esso, BP, Texaco, Total, Shell and other fuel stations.

Drivers can keep hold of their receipt and upload it to Topcashback. If it qualifies for the deal the website will pay £10 back into the driver's account.

Whether you are heading into store to do a big food shop or just need a few bits too keep you going over the long weekend, it's worth checking supermarket opening times so you don't get caught out on Bank Holiday Monday.

Sainsbury's stores will open normal hours over the weekend, but on Monday major stores across England and Wales will open from 8am to 10pm, while those in Scotland will operate normal hours.

The chain advises shoppers to use the online store locator tool for exact timings for their local branch.

Sainsbury's opening times at a glance:

Saturday August 24 - normal opening hours

Sunday August 25 - normal opening hours

Monday August 26 - stores in England and Wales will operate amended trading times on the Bank Holiday, with most major stores open from 8am - 10pm.
