Sainsbury's May bank holiday 2022 opening times as stores close early for the day

The May bank holiday weekend is finally here.

While millions will get an extra day off work to enjoy, the main supermarket chains around the UK will be operating with reduced hours - so make sure you don't get caught short.

Sainsbury’s has already confirmed when its doors will be open and the full details are listed below.

Some stores may vary on these official opening times, so it is a good idea to double check your local shop online at Sainsburys.co.uk.

To check the opening times of your local Sainsbury’s shop, there is an online store locator that lists when the store will be operating.

Here are the full details on when Sainsbury’s will be operating over the bank holiday weekend.

Saturday April 30 is a normal day and Sainsbury’s will be operating under normal hours.

Stores will be open from 7am to 11pm across the country.

Sunday May 1

Sunday May 1 is a normal day and Sainsbury’s will be operating under normal hours.

Stores will be open from 7am to 11pm across the country.

Monday May 2 (Bank holiday)

On bank holiday Monday, Sainsbury’s is operating under reduced hours.

It will open one hour later than usual at 8am and close at 8pm.

If there is any last-minute shopping to be done on Monday, it is best to get to the store sooner rather than later so you’re not caught out by the 8pm closing time, which is three hours earlier than usual.
