Sainsbury's late May Bank Holiday opening times for 2020

Another bank holiday weekend has nearly come around again - feels like five minutes since the last one but every day seems to roll into one right now.

You might be one of these people that plans ahead and gets all their shopping done before to avoid the madness and endless queuing or leave it last minute and find yourself rushing around on the bank holiday Monday?

Well don’t panic either way as Sainsbury’s will still be open and there for you - just store opening times might have altered so best to check before you make your trip for those bbq essentials.

Those who want to pop into Sainsbury's will be pleased to hear that the chain's stores will be open on bank holiday Monday (May 25th), but there are varying opening times for branches across the country.

The majority of Sainsbury’s supermarkets are open from 8am to 10pm - you can double check opening times of your local store with the store locator.

Sainsbury's Bank Holiday opening times

  • Friday 22nd May - normal opening hours for all UK stores

  • Saturday 23rd May - normal opening hours for all UK stores

  • Sunday 24th May - normal opening hours for all UK stores

  • Monday 25th May - Sainsbury’s will be open from the hours of 8am - 8pm but before heading out, it's worth checking the Sainsbury's store locator for the most up to date information.

Sainsbury’s Local store operating hours may differ slightly.

The supermarket chain has a number of measures in place to ensure the safety of customers and staff during the coronavirus pandemic.

These include a limit on the number of customers in stores at any one time, clear markings on the floor for social distancing and screens at checkouts in every supermarket.

Stores are open for elderly and vulnerable customers between 8am and 9am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

If you work for the NHS or are a care worker, your special hours are from 7.30am to 8am, Monday to Saturday.
