If you’re looking for roast dinner centerpieces at Sainsbury’s, there’s a third off pork shoulder joints, more than half price off a whole leg of lamb, and money off the roast-in-a-bag whole chicken with a pork, sage and onion stuffing, if you’re after fuss-free cooking.

You can save half price on salmon, and when it comes to the roast trimmings, there are savings on carrots bringing them down to pennies, white potatoes perfect for crisping up, swede, onion gravy granules and sage roast onion and shallot stuffing, made with ciabatta and toasted crumbs finished with lemon peel.

Not forgetting dessert, you can save 25 per cent on the pistachio tiramisu, which is topped with mascarpone and pistachio cream, or there’s an amaretto tiramisu for those who prefer it traditional. Another discounted pud that I love the look of is this oat and apple crumble, made from British bramley, gala and golden delicious apples.

I’ve compared dozens of Easter eggs to find the 15 best, from supermarket to luxury options
