Sainsbury's has launched a huge £1 lockdown sale

Now the sun is shining, everyone's looking for a new summer wardrobe to keep them feeling and looking fresh in the garden or local park.

Clothing shops won't be reopening until June 15, but there's a clever loophole to buy some new threads before then - by going to the supermarket.

Now Sainsbury's has taken it one step further by launching a huge sale on its clothing - and some items have been reduced to as little as a quid.

With the sale starting yesterday, shoppers are now able to save up to 70% on items across mens, womens' and kids departments with everything from clothing to shoes included.

Around 40 lines of already reduced stock have been lowered to £1, so shoppers can grab themselves a bargain as part of their essential supermarket shop.

According to the Liverpool ECHO, in womenswear there will be a mixture of items for half price and up to 70% off, according to the website.

Throughout this week more deals will be added with further offers on older children's clothing expected to be released tomorrow.
