Fridges and freezers in a Liverpool Sainsburys have "gone into meltdown" during Liverpool's hottest day ever.
Sainsbury's on Rice Lane in Walton are unable to sell any fridge or freezer products after the machines went into "meltdown" on Monday, July 18. Images taken by ECHO readers inside the store show all of the fridge shutters down and produce trollies blocking the aisles to stop people going down them.
One eyewitness said she was told the fridges were "broken".

An extreme heat weather warning is currently in place, as "exceptional" heat is expected to affect a large part of the country, with highs of 40C in some southern areas.
A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “Some of the fridges at our Rice Lane store are currently not in use. We’re working hard to get them up and running again as soon as possible and are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.”
