Sainsbury's delivery driver claims he was sacked after praising job on TikTok

A Sainsbury's delivery driver claims he was sacked after posting a video in which he praised his job online. Ollie Tutt, 19, posted the clip on TikTok last month, explaining to viewers how much he loved his job, adding that it was the "easiest and best paying" role he'd ever had.

In the video , which has more than 3.8 million views, Ollie recommends the job to those watching, claiming that he gets paid for "not doing much". He said: ""If you want an easy job, just go and work at Tesco, Sainsbury and do this delivering s**t. It is possibly the easiest job I've ever had, the best paying job I've ever had and I get looked after.

He added: "I don’t do much, I just sit on the side of the road waiting to do these drops. All the customers are f*****g lovely and haven’t had an occasion where they have been an a******e.” The video has also received more than 400,000 likes, the Mirror reports.

The teen went on to warn viewers against working in the store itself, which he claimed was far less enjoyable than his job on the roads. He said: “Don’t work in the store though, that’s s**t and boring. Seriously if you wanna do an easy job just do this.”

However, despite his praise for his job, supermarket bosses weren't happy with the viral video and later sacked him. Ollie, from East Sussex, claims that this was due to his swearing - which he did repeatedly throughout the short clip - as well as his attitude to the situation. In a follow-up to the original video, he told viewers that he was in trouble, adding: “That video got a lot more attention than I thought it would and caused a bit of a problem. “My manager told me that the store manager didn’t really mind but because I swore in that video it’s kind of bad for the company. Which kind of is obvious because it doesn’t look really good on them.”

Sure enough, not long after talking to management, Ollie was sacked for gross misconduct and disrepute, with the teenager claiming that his apparent lack of care about the whole situation was also a factor. The incident means he is now without a job, leaving him worried about how he is going to get by.

In another follow-up post, he claimed that the video was "not a big deal" and told those who warned him about potentially losing his job to "go f**k yourself". He said: “Yep I got sacked and now I am worried about how I am going to pay my rent in a week. It's not a big deal, like they are a multi-billion pound company and they care about a single video. Yep you were all right about me losing my job, go f**k yourself. Now I am going to apply for new jobs.”

A Sainsbury’s spokeswoman said: “We are unable to discuss individual colleague cases. Any decision to review a colleague’s employment is not taken lightly and based on a range of factors.”
