Sainsbury's Covid safety message ahead of bumper Easter weekend

Sainsbury's has issued a new safety message to shoppers ahead of a bumper Easter weekend.

Bosses at the supermarket giant are asking shoppers to consider making an earlier trip to the store ahead of Easter Sunday on April 4, reports Birmingham Live.

Chiefs at Sainsbury's, which has stores across Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire, are expecting a busy weekend. And have urged people to hit the stores sooner rather than later to "help keep everyone safe".

A supermarket spokesperson: "We may be busier than usual this Easter, so please shop earlier in the week to help keep everyone safer. Thank you."

The supermarket has also reminded customers to shop alone to help maintain social distancing in stores, unless you're with a carer or children.

A reduced number of people are currently allowed in Sainsbury's stores at one time to help stop the spread of Covid-19.

Customers are also required to wear face masks.
