Sainsbury's, Asda and Morrisons are urgently recalling these products over safety fears

Major retailers are recalling a number of products over safety fears.

The items are sold at stores including Sainsbury’s, Asda, Morrison and other high street shops.

Shoppers are being urged to make sure that they don’t have any of these products in their cupboards, fridges or freezers.

And if they do, they could get a full refund.

Trading Standards said: “Product recalls are made by traders about products that have problems which could affect the safety of the consumer. The product should not be used and should be returned to the trader.”

These are recalled items.

1. Sainsbury’s

Mango Sorbet

Date code: best-before-end November 2019

It has been brought to the company’s attention that it may contain traces of milk.

They are asking customers who have purchased this product and have an allergy or an intolerance to milk, to return it to their nearest Sainsbury’s store, where they will receive a full refund.

2. Asda.

Garlic and Parsley Butter (all dates)

Asda has recalled its Garlic and Parsley Butter (Asda)

The store is recalling the garlic and parsley butter, which is provided as an accompaniment on our fish counter.

There is a possibility that very low levels of peanut may be present in the butter, which is not declared.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to peanuts.

Asda bosses say: “If you have purchased a fish product with garlic and parsley butter from our fish counter, and are allergic to peanuts, please avoid consuming it. You can bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund. You do not need your receipt.”

3. IKEA

SÖTSAK SKUMTOPP

Soft marshmallows covered in chocolate flavoured coating, with best-before dates between 2019-03-12 and 2019-04-18.

IKEA has recalled its SÖTSAK SKUMTOPP, soft marshmallows covered in chocolate flavoured coating, 180 g, because of undeclared milk (IKEA)

The stores are recalling SÖTSAK SKUMTOPP, soft marshmallows covered in chocolate flavoured coating, 180 g, because of undeclared milk on the product label.

The affected product contains whey powder, which is derived from milk, making the product a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Although whey powder is mentioned in the list of ingredients, milk is not.

Customers allergic or intolerant to milk or milk constituents are advised not to consume the affected product and return it to their nearest IKEA store for a full refund. No receipt is required.

4. Morrison

Chinese takeaway products

Morrisons is recalling the above date codes of these products because they contain milk, which that is not declared on the label.

This means the products could pose a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk.

If you suffer from an allergy or intolerance to milk please do not consume these products and return them to your nearest store for a full refund.

No other products or date codes of these products are affected by this issue.

5. Boots.

Boots has recalled its Boots Shapers Teriyaki Houmous Chips Best-before date: 8 June 2019. (Boots)

Boots says as part of its ongoing quality monitoring programme they’ve identified that the above product may contain mustard, which is not declared on the label.

As this is a potential health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to mustard they are advising that the product should not be eaten.

Please return it to your nearest Boots store where you’ll receive an exchange, alternative product or a refund. No other products in the range are affected.
