A flourishing partnership between Dobbies Garden Centres and Sainsbury's has resulted in the opening of a new-look food hall at the Stockton branch of the garden centre with a huge range of products on sale.
And to celebrate, customers are being offered the chance of winning their shopping there for free.
Five shoppers will be picked at random between now and February 4 and told they won't have to pay for what's in their basket.
Dobbies' partnership with the supermarket giant has already seen Sainsbury’s groceries go on sale at its Ponteland store where a similar offer was made to Newcastle shoppers when the venture was launched last March.
Now the development in Stockton is following suit, with its new-look food hall now selling more than 3,000 Sainsbury's products including fresh, chilled and frozen food as well as other grocery, household and toiletry items.
Five shoppers will win their food hall shopping for free between now and February 4 with staff picking at random and informing the winners at the till point that they won't need to pay for the contents of their shopping basket.
Graeme Jenkins, chief executive of Dobbies, said it is "fantastic" to see the new-look food hall open in Stockton, with its range of Sainsbury’s goods.
"This new food and grocery offer complements our garden centre ranges, providing convenience and a wide product selection for our customers," he said.
In line with Government guidelines, the Stockton store is open on Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm and on Sunday from 10.30am until 4.30pm, with social distancing measures in place.
