Safety Bradley McDougald could return from back injury next week

The Seattle Seahawks were without starting safety Bradley McDougald in their Week 7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

McDougald had sat out practice all last week after suffering from back spasms. He was initially listed on the injury report as questionable to play against Baltimore but was downgraded to out shortly before the game.

Coach Pete Carroll is hopeful Bradley can return as soon as Week 8.

“We think so. We think so,” Carroll said during his postgame press conference. “We’re very positive about the thought. He wasn’t quite able, today. But, he still has to do it. He still has to get well. He has back spasms, you know, and that didn’t really release the way that sometimes they do.

“So, maybe over the weekend he will make a comeback for us.”

McDougald wasn’t the only Seahawks safety out against the Ravens on Sunday. Lano Hill, who had been ruled out with an elbow injury, was also inactive on gameday. Rookie safety Marquise Blair logged his first NFL start.

Carroll should have further injury updates later in the week as the Seahawks prepare to face the Falcons on the road.
