Sadness for staff at Lark Lane restaurant as it prepares to close after five years

After five years of business on Lark Lane, Turkish restaurant Belly has announced it will be closing its doors.

In two weeks time, the popular grill will be closing for good as owner Arzu Secgin moves on to new ventures in the restaurant industry.

The restaurant offers traditional Turkish food from Turkish chefs with more than 20 years experience.

Popular dishes include kebabs, sote chicken, iskender and mezze platters, among vegetarian options like halloumi skewers, vegetarian guvec, hummus and falafel.

The closure was a difficult decision for the small team, who Arzu said are "like a family".

He also told the ECHO he is taking some time to focus on his new business venture, which offers customers edible flowers and strawberry dipped chocolates.

The chocolates are all hand decorated with Belgian chocolate and made to order.

Azru said: "We thank all of our customers for supporting us throughout our business years.

"It's quite sad as it's been five years but it's time to move on."

Belly will close in late July.
