Sadistic killer who decapitated his teen victim with an axe deported to UK

A sick British killer who decapitated a homeless teenager and used his head as a bowling ball in Australia has been deported back to the UK.

Christopher Clark Jones brutally murdered Morgan Shepherd, 17, in Brisbane in 2005.

The victim was stabbed 133 times before his head was cut off with either an axe, knife or saw.

Jones, from Tyneside, served 15 years of his life sentence and was released on parole earlier this month, Chronicle Live reports.

Images from the Australia Border Force show the 36-year-old boarding a plane on Monday after being sent back to the UK by the authorities.

He was born on Tyneside and moved to Australia with his family as a child.

At the time of the murder Jones lived with his parents and infant daughter.

But having never taking up the opportunity of applying for Australian citizenship, he has now had his visa cancelled and has returned to the UK.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton said that it was one of the most “abhorrent” crimes he had ever come across.

Morgan's torso was found buried in a shallow grave after police received a tip-off days after the vile killing.

His severed head was found on a nearby tree stump.

A Brisbane Supreme Court judge sentenced Jones and James Patrick Roughan to life behind bars after being convicted of murder.

The pair had been drinking together with Morgan on March 29, 2005 before a row broke out.

At the trial, witnesses said Jones had spoken to friends about using Morgan's head as a bowling ball and a hand puppet.

The court was told at the time: "Chris and this fellow got into a wrestle and Chris said he stomped on him a bit and then grabbed a knife from the kitchen, stabbed him in the back, stabbed him a few times and then gave the knife to James and James stabbed him a few times."

Neither man pleaded guilty to killing Morgan, but a witness told the court that they boasted about the crime just a few days later.

The witness said: "James cut the head and Chris pulled it off. James was making a joke of the situation."

During sentencing, Justice Roslyn Atkinson described it as one of the worst cases that had ever come before her.

Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton cancelled Jones's visa on character grounds ahead of his release.

He told Brisbane's Courier-Mail: “There is no place in the Australian community for foreign nationals who murder Australians."
