Liverpool star Sadio Mane reacted with disbelief when a young supporter revealed his brother was a Manchester United fan.
The forward was taking part in a Zoom call alongside Mohamed Salah, as the Liverpool players spoke to patients at Alder Hey hospital.
Players and staff usually visit the hospital as part of an annual tradition as they meet and greet young supporters before Christmas, but were unable to this year due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Instead, they paid a virtual visit as the club’s players spoke to supporters over the Zoom call, and there was an unexpected twist when Salah and Mane met young fan Morgan.
The youngster, who was wearing a Liverpool shirt, revealed his brother is a United fan, to which Mane immediately put his head in his hands, saying: "Oooh wrong team.”
Of course, given the two sides’ most recent meeting at Old Trafford – which Salah especially enjoyed as he bagged a hat-trick – it didn’t take long for the 5-0 drubbing to be mentioned.
Mane asked Morgan: “Have you seen the last game against them?”
To which Morgan smiled and replied: “Yeah, 5-0."
"It looks like you enjoyed it," Salah chimed in before Mane aimed one final dig at United saying: "I'm sure your brother was sad."
Morgan’s brother will no doubt be looking ahead to March when the two sides meet again at Anfield, hoping he can get the last laugh over Mane and his brother on that occasion.
