Sadio Mane reveals how Man City led to his frustration with Liverpool FC teammate Mohamed Salah

Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has revealed that Manchester City 's performances factored into his frustration with teammate Mohamed Salah earlier in the season.

The Senegal international fumed after being substituted against Burnley, unhappy that Salah had opted to take a shot on goal rather than pass to him.

Mane needed James Milner to calm him down on the bench but Jurgen Klopp revealed the issue was resolved in the dressing room immediately after the game.

Speaking before Liverpool's Champions League fixture against RB Salzburg, Mane opened up on the spat, suggesting that Manchester City's goal-laden performances may have influenced his anger.

Asked about the incident, Mane said: "I think things can happen in football.

"I feel a little bit frustrated because it's football you want to score more goals.

"You can see Man City eight, six, seven nil. You can see it, no? So, for me and for the team it is really important for us to score as many goals as we can.

"But it can happen because he didn't see me and I was a bit frustrated. But we come out [of it] as really, really good friends.

"You know it is all forgotten, it is behind us."

Liverpool currently have a five point lead at the top of the Premier League table and the two sides will come face to face at Anfield on November 10.
